So Build Me A Building!!!

So there is this show the girls watch from time to time called the Bubble Guppies and on one of their episodes they have a song called So Build Me A Building and in doing this addition to our house I keep singing it!

End of the weekend. Up on top of the garage standing in what will be one of the girl's room. 

Yup another beautiful sunset....can't wait to have this be my bedroom window vies every night!

I am a Warrior

Well I'm not, but Brian and good buddy Jim are!!!

This past Saturday they participated in the Warrior Dash. It is a 5K that involves obstacles and MUD!!!!

Here they are at the beginning all nice and clean.

Some people wore costumes....I picked these out for the guys for next year!

Then you sit and wait for about 45 minutes because spectators are not allowed on the course.

Then the guys showed up. I was standing at the end and got to watch the last couple of obstacles. 

They had to climb up and over.

And jump over fire.

I personally watched 4 people fall either in or very close to being in the fire.

Then they had to dive into some mud pits.

Ewww!!!! This was them at the end....a very gross muddy mess.

After getting washed off, the guys got a celebratory beer and a fuzzy warrior helmet/hat.

 (that is now covered in mud and somehow made it into the girls toy box)

One Woman Tornado

Sometimes when people ask about the twins and the personalities, I will sometimes tell them about the things that my One Woman Tornado can get into. They always laugh or chuckle and say What??? Not this sweet little girl. 

Well today I took a picture of the things my One Woman Tornado got into. Someone (I will not name names) went to the bathroom and then left to go to Menard's. 

So when it gets really really quiet in the house, you know something is going on. 

This is what I found, my make-up drawer is open and My One Woman Tornado had pulled all of my floss out of the container. My make-up powder all over the toilet seat lid. Multiple other things were all over the floor. And my mascara...well you see what happened with my mascara. 

Savannah my dear, I think you need to wait at least another 10 years before you try this again. 

Please???

Project 1 - Complete! Well sort of...

I still need rugs and a couple of decorations for the room, but other than that it is DONE!

The girls got to watch a movie on the "big screen" today. They loved it!

Then tonight after a quick dip in the lake we put some more of the heavier things in that I couldn't do by myself. 

TV is up and the fireplace is done.

I even got my table and chair upstairs and now it looks like I have a cute little desk....that got instantly used!

We got the ceiling fan in last week so that is finished too!

Eventually where the green cabinet is will be a wet bar, but we are trying to decide on one yet. but for now the cabinet is fine. 

We got this project done just in time for the next one to start up, in only a few short weeks I will have an attached garage!!!!!!

Labor Day 2013 Part 2

So we couldn't just have fun over labor day....we had to get some work done.

We got to dig the footings for our garage! 

I currently have a 4 foot deep trench in my backyard and I am really hoping it doesn't rain soon!

We shortened our porch to our kitchen door and we took the siding off the house where the garage will connect to the house. All of this is just prep work for when we build the garage in a few weeks.

And we also finished the fireplace...we were going to make the brick go all the way up to the top, but we changed our mind. We kind of like it just the way it it.

They needed to take another picture of the fireplace 

So we just keep truckin along on these projects... we have a few more things to do before we do build the garage in a couple of weeks and I will definitely keep taking pictures to keep you all updated!

Wordless Wednesday - Savannah style

Labor Day 2013

What a fun weekend we had with my family!!! We started off with Aunt Ash in the moterhome...

We went for a walk to the beach and Grandma and Grandpa helped

On this hill, we have taken so many pictures over the years... so I wanted to get the next generation of kids pictures on this hill.

The girls chased some sea gulls and didn't come back until I ran down the beach and chased them back.

They loved splashing in the water.

Grandpa tried to teach Addison how to spray water with her hands.

We did a scavenger hunt

Aunt Ash tried to fly a kite with the kids.

The babies had so much fun at the beach!

Then we had dinner with Aunt Diane and Uncle Jason one night.

And we took them for a walk to the beach.

We had such a fun time and the girls all did great. It was so much different from last year when he had to bring our baby jail to the beach and baby toys..... but times change and that's okay!
