100 posts, 10 years, and first dates.

"WOW!" As Addison would say!

100.

Can you believe it, this is the 100th blog post I have done!!!!! It has been quite the journey so far. I started blogging because this is such an easier way to share pictures and memories with our families who we don't live near. But, I have continued to blog because now we are creating bigger memories and now it's not just families who view our blog. We have moved a few times and created life long friends along the way and this is just another way of staying connected with them. And someday, when I get some time, I want to turn this blog into a memory book for our girls so they can see how they grew up.

10 years ago today I went on my last first date. Today, it really doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I was going to be meeting this guy called "Timmer" (I later found out that his first name was Brian) and that we were going to be going bowling and out for pizza. So, date night rolled around and I showed up at a friend's house to meet "Timmer" and we left to go bowling. Only then did we find out that when you try to go bowling on a holiday weekend everything is closed. We ended up driving to 3 or 4 different bowling alleys and we kept getting the same results. Closed. But it was quite nice getting to ride around in "The Dodge Spirit" (that didn't have an airbag on the driver's side and had a plague on the dash that said "Thank you for not Smoking") because we ended up talking about who we were, our likes and dislikes, and other stuff that 16 and 18 year olds talk about! (And by the way, I think Brian used up all of his word usage that night because getting him to talk is worse than pulling teeth! Unless it's about roofing jobs or table saws.) So then we went to get some pizza. We went to Fircano's Pizza in Holland, MI. It was amazing pizza!!!! The rest of the night consisted of more talking and a first date kiss and me almost missing my 11 o'clock curfew! And the rest is history!

But just to reminisce, here is the only picture I have of that night. And yes, it is terrible quality, but that is what you get when you grow up in a pre-digital camera world!

MB- do you remember those shorts?!!!!!!?

  1. Ah :o)

I used Blurb to convert ours. It turned out beautiful and my only complaint was that it was a glue binding. It's time to start thinking about doing the next one, which honestly leaves me groaning......
